With less than 24 hours to go till we set off on the first leg of our Alaskan adventure we all donned our North to Alaska tee shirts and posed for a photo in front of the cars.
The photo was taken by our great friends, Les and Barbara Moss. We 'persuaded' them to pose in front of the cars.
Tomorrow we leave at 7am for the 400 mile drive up the coast of Southern California to our first night's stop in Sausalito, just over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. The drive will take us past Hearst Castle, Big Sur and Carmel. On the assumption we arrive at a reasonable time tomorrow evening, I will post my first blog from the hotel in Sausalito.
A four-thousand-five-hundred mile drive from Malibu in California to Anchorage, Alaska. The route goes via Vancouver Island, the Inside Passage, Juneau, Skagway, Fairbanks, Prudhoe Bay (Arctic Ocean), Denali National Park and finishes in Anchorage.
